In a tight rental market, having a file ready even before the viewing can make the difference. Property managers and agencies in Switzerland generally ask for the same documents:
- A valid ID document
- A recent extract from the Debt Enforcement Office (certificate of no debt enforcement)
- Your last three payslips, or a certificate from your employer if you are starting a new job
- The completed rental application form (often provided by the agency)
- A reference from your current landlord or property manager, if requested
The rent deposit
Most leases require a deposit equivalent to a few months' rent, either as a sum blocked in a rent deposit account or as rent deposit insurance (paid, without tying up capital). Both options have their advantages; compare before choosing.
Once your file is ready, you can apply directly from a property page on MyImmobilier.ch using the “Contact the agency” button.
